The Quill of Statia

The Quill of Statia is an opportunity for escape to a pristine Caribbean island most people have never heard of. An island rich with natural beauty, a diverse multicultural population and teeming with history.

The Quill of Statia is 185 acres (75 hectares) of prime undeveloped land ready for private sector sustainable development, with full approval and endorsement by the Government of Sint Eustatius. This is a unique blank canvas on the tranquil, welcoming island of Sint Eustatius (generally called Statia), offering multiple possibilities for residential and resort development, combined with beautiful natural settings, hiking trails, green areas and magnificent vistas.

The Site

The property is at the base of the Quill, Statia’s most dramatic geographic feature. It offers spectacular views of the Caribbean Sea.

Multiple Possibilities for Development

The illustrations below show two of many potential development prospects for this vast property, all planned in accordance with Statia’s island-wide, Government-approved Spatial Development Plan.

The first Quill of Statia plan below includes up to 75 private residences on lots larger than an acre (1/2 hectare), a hotel complex with up to 125 rooms along with pool, spa, retail and restaurant facilities, abundant green park spaces, sites of historical and archaeological interest, and onsite and nearby hiking trails to the adjacent National Park, Botanical Garden and tropical rain forest.

An alternative plan divides the residential area into three zones: private villas on lots larger than an acre (1/2 hectare), grand villas on lots of up to five acres (two hectares) each, and six higher density sites for subdivision.

Resort and Recreation

At the Eastern end of the property, this land has been approved to be used for hotels, guest houses, resorts, restaurants, cafés, bars, shops, playgrounds, and recreational facilities. It is adjacent to the majestic White Wall cliffs, historic Fort de Windt and the Quill National Park.

20 Residential Homes

Private villas on lots larger than an acre (1/2 hectare) are envisioned, with abundant green areas. These might be vacation, retirement or primary homes.

Grand Villas

At the higher elevation of the property, the Quill of Statia offers the possibility of ten rambling villas set on lots of up to five acres (two hectares), with wide-open views of the Caribbean Sea. Expansive lots such as these could offer space for anything from an elegant estate with a glorious infinity pool to a quiet, escape-from-it-all retreat.
